![]() Media Composer is the most proven video editing software in the industry, trusted by professional editors in every segment of movie making, television, broadcast, and streaming media. Short version: adding effects to a clip changes its nature such that what appears to be a bug occurs when trying to delete the muted clip with the Delete or Backspace key.Avid Media Composer 2023.3 (圆4) | 2.42 GB | This applies to both audio and video clips. It's got to be a mistake I can't imagine any practical reason to include this behavior. Adding an effect seems to bring with it metadata that Avid in its current build is doing something really strange with under these specific circumstances. You've undone whatever adding the effects did. Now, if you, say, cut a clip into A1, adjust the level, and add some volume keyframes, you can undo your way back to the orignal, clean clip, which, as above, *can* be deleted. But if you apply *any* effect to the clip, even if you remove it, deleting the muted clip will *not* work, and the clip will be cut into the top of the sequence, in the same track, minus any effects on the original clip in the timeline. What seems to happen for me is that if you have a clip in the timeline that has *never* had any effect put on it - gain, volume keyframes, 3d warp, whatever, you *can* delete it when muted. ![]() ![]() I can confirm that the behavior is present in Avid 2022.12.2.
